THE ROCKSPRINGS FOUNDATION

Guidelines

The Rocksprings Foundation seeks to continue a family tradition of enhancing the quality of life in the community through grants to qualified charitable organizations.

Grants are made to nonprofit programs and agencies that support and encourage educational opportunities for disadvantaged children and adults, social justice, financial independence for low-income families, and health education and initiatives. The Foundation supports preventative, innovative, and established, proven programs.  Limited grants may be made to projects and programs of special interest to the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

The Foundation generally will not consider requests for general fundraising, deficit financing, or loans and grants to individuals.

The principal focus of grants is the United States, with special consideration given to organizations in the Northeastern United States, Washington, DC Metropolitan area and the Southeastern United States.

Grants are made only to nonprofit charitable organizations which are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation usually awards grants for one year only. For projects in those areas in which the Foundation has a special interest, requests for multi-year funding and general operating support may be considered.

The Foundation welcomes collaboration with other private and public funders to address issues of concern. Please note that we do not accept unsolicited proposals.
